Two Upcoming Activities in HKANM


(1) Evidence-Based Nursing Practice (Open-up Lectures)

Contemporary nursing takes place in the midst of an environment characterized by increasing healthcare choices, rising expectations, constrained resources, and increasing complexity of health care delivery. Furthermore, with increasing advances in biomedical and clinical research providing unprecedented insights into health promotion and disease prevention, nurses face the challenge of having to utilize findings of well designed research studies and translate them effectively into everyday practice. 


Hong Kong Academy of Nursing (HKANM) and Hong Kong College of Education and Research in Nursing (HKCERN) are pleased to open up 10 lectures in the “Pre-Ordinary Membership Training” to nurses who are interested to acquire foundation knowledge in Evidence-Based Nursing Practice. 


Date of Training : 3 March 2026 – 26 May 2026 (Tuesday, 6:30-9:30pm)

27 June 2026 (Saturday, 9:30am-12:30pm)

*Optional two days workshop: 24 - 25 March 2026

(Tuesday & Wednesday, 9:00am-5:00pm) [14 CNE points will be count]

Mode of Training: 11 three-hour lectures [Physical / Online]

Venue: The Hong Kong Academy of Nursing & Midwifery / The Chinese University of Hong Kong

Tuition Fee : HK $200 per lecture (3-hoursession) ; *HK $1,000 for optional two days workshop 27 June session is free for participants who has enrolled in any one lecture or more from 3 March – 26 May 2026.

Certificate & CNE Points: (3 CNE points) will be issued to the participants who has completed every 3- hour lecture; For online sessions, attendance is tracked via login/logout times. Participants must attend over 70% of each 3-hour session. 


All lectures will be conducted in English and Cantonese.

(2) Pre-Membership Foundation Education Program: Module 2 Evidence-Based Nursing Practice Workshop (with assessment)

Learning Objectives: Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

• Understand the basic concepts of quantitative and qualitative research;

• Identify clinical issues or problems requiring evidence-based practice;

• Identify potential innovations for improving patient outcomes or quality of care;

• Develop evidence-based practice guidelines or protocols;

• Critically appraise the evidence in order to determine its certainty and applicability;

• Assessing the implementation potential of an evidence-based innovation;

• Implement the evidence-based nursing practice in clinical settings.
